There are two  types  of birthmarks :

    • Vascular 
    • Pigmented

Vascular birthmarks include

    • portwine stain,
    • Sturge weber syndrome
    • AV malformations (arteriovenous malformations)
    • Hemangiomas (including orificial, bleeding, and ulcerated)
    • Venous lakes
    • Telangiectasia

It is important to understand that diseases like port wine stains are progressive which require immediate attention. Early treatment will result in excellent recovery

Vascular  birthmarks  are  disfiguring   especially  when  present  in the face  and  neck
