Keloids are raised scars that appears like bumps on the skin surface. They occur when the skin heals after an injury, burns, cut or severe acne. In general, anything that causes a scar can possibly cause a keloid. This happens when a skin continuously heals, forming a scar tissue that eventually develops as a bump or raised scar. Even a tattoo and piercing can cause a keloid.
